Villa Andrea
This time we show you the result of an integral reform, with the aim of turning the house into a modern sustainable construction, in other words, a construction that uses natural materials, rejects the use of toxic substances in the manufacture of construction materials, limits the negative impacts of the human habitat on the environment and reduces energy consumption.

The renovation involved refurbishing the house with modern materials, blending them with those that were already there. In addition to redistributing and renovating several areas such as the living-dining room, kitchen and bathrooms.
We also wanted to reuse the space provided by the house to introduce a courtyard that could be accessed from different parts of the house and from the outside. For access from the outside, we raised the stone wall that enclosed the entire house and placed a 3-metre high Corten iron door as an alternative entrance from the outside from the patio. As for the decoration of the courtyard, the owner’s aim was to combine the symmetry of modern construction with the different elements and materials of nature such as water, vegetation and stone. For this we installed a fountain at ground level made of stone and surrounded part of the courtyard with planters to place vegetation.
In order to allow the vegetation to cover the terrace, a metal structure was recycled and installed on the terrace so that it could be used as a natural shelter. At the same time, the previous pool was demolished and the garden was redistributed for the construction of an overflowing infinity pool with an exposed concrete finish.
On the other hand, part of the floor inside the house was renovated for a polished concrete floor, as some of the terracotta floor tiles were very deteriorated. However, we managed to reuse those tiles that were in better condition and recondition them for use. Shortly afterwards, a built-in bookcase was built in the living room and a staircase was built to facilitate access to the first floor of the house.
Finally the property was refurbished with the best installations such as underfloor heating, ducted air conditioning, brand new plumbing and electricity. Including solar panels and an aerothermal heat pump to generate renewable and sustainable energy.
